Marc Jacobs freebies in exchange for a #Tweet

Is the future of retail changing? Are the boundaries between exclusivity, designer brands, consumers and social media technology revolutionising?

Imagine paying for a designer perfume in ‘social currency’ – whether it be a Tweet, Instagram post or Facebook status. Sound too good to be true? Well this will be the case for a new Marc Jacobs pop-up shop in New York’s trendy Soho neighbourhood next weekend, just in time for New York Fashion Week.

The ‘Marc Jacobs Pop-Up ‘Tweetshop’ will accept social media posts tagged with #MJDaisyChain from shoppers, who will then be able to receive Marc Jacobs freebies, including fragrances and small accessories in return.

The shoppers who send out the most creative posts will be entered to win larger fashion and accessory items throughout the day. The innovative concept shop will also provide its social media savvy shoppers with a Daisy photo booth, food, drinks and a free Wi-Fi lounge.

Sound like something not to be missed for all you lucky New Yorkers!
