PURE LONDON

Pure is one of the most influential fashion and accessories buying events on the UK calendar. Showcasing over 1000 womenswear, lingerie, young fashion, footwear and handbag brands, as well as featuring Leading Global Trend Forecasting service WGSN – Pure gives the industry a sneak peak of Spring/Summer 2014 trends. CVUK managed to get along earlier in the month and brings you our scoop on what you can expect in coming seasons as well as a pick of our favourite emerging brands!

LEMONS & LIMES

lemon and lime

Undoubtedly one of the biggest things we saw was glorious yellows and limes. Whatever the shade; lemon, lime, gold, mustard, jonquil, school bus yellow – you name it, we saw it. The challenge next season will be finding the shade to suit you. Although hard to pull off, we predict the range of shades on offer will make it an accessible colour for everyone to play around with.

VINTAGE & RETRO

Although this keeps floating in and out, there was no denying the
influence of past decades on the brands on show.

One of our favourite brands that embraced the Vintage/Retro theme was ‘Doll’ by Ruby Rouge( above) which is an exciting new collection inspired by a love of all things girly, and glamorous. Think classic fifties style silhouettes and feminine floaty chiffons, lace and silk combined with a pastel pallet.

Like ‘Doll,’ another exciting period inspired brand. The love child of Emmy Nilsson, a young Swedish designer and her love of all things retro, ‘Emmy’ has been ‘embracing the feminine since 2010’ and exhibited a colourful range of designs that go against the tide and emphasise individuality…

On top of this we saw muted bold block colours, striking nature inspired prints, hints of geometric cuts and colourful plays on traditional utilitarian designs.
