Senior Garment Technologist.

A studio-based position supporting the technical aspects of the Development team, working closely with Production. The role focuses on ensuring the quality and construction of garments across seasonal collections, with responsibility for managing technical specifications, overseeing fit and construction standards, and collaborating across teams to meet product development timelines. This position reports to the Development Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate garment constructions for seasonal collections, aligned with margin and production capabilities.
- Assist design teams while maintaining aesthetic integrity and risk-assessing products.
- Collaborate with Design, Fabrics, Atelier, Development, and Production teams to ensure timely risk assessments.
- Manage fit meetings and the critical path to meet production deadlines.
- Measure development samples, identify discrepancies, and prepare them for factory reference.
- Cross-check pattern and costing sheets with CMT products in collaboration with PD and Production teams.
- Communicate technical requirements and changes clearly during the collection development phase.
- Serve as the main contact for manufacturers on fit, construction, and quality.
- Create detailed technical packs for factories to ensure garment specifications are met.
- Manage software administration, including inputting fit and construction data.
- Review and develop quality standards and perform product comparisons against competitors.
- Contribute to brand manuals and assure consistent quality standards across product ranges.
- Oversee the sealing process for production handover and lead continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Degree or similar qualification.
- 6+ years’ experience in apparel or a related industry – must have experience in Luxury inc corsetry and luxury fabrics.
- Expertise in garment construction and fit.
- Pattern cutting and grading skills (advantageous).
- Manufacturing and testing knowledge (advantageous).
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems (advantageous).
- Strong MS Office skills.
- Proactive, organized, and able to manage critical paths.
- Team player with good communication skills.
