About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Department Manager to lead the Ladieswear Ready-to-Wear department in one of the most prestigious retail environments in London.
As Department Manager, you will take full ownership of your department’s performance, leading a team of Client Advisors to deliver exceptional service and exceed sales targets. You’ll be a key figure in developing client relationships, coaching your team, and driving commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire a team to achieve individual and departmental KPIs.
- Define goals and regularly review performance, providing real-time coaching and feedback.
- Identify and nurture talent, supporting career development and succession planning.
- Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
Client Experience
- Ensure every client receives outstanding service and attention.
- Cultivate a client-centric culture and drive database growth through effective data capture.
- Support the team in building long-lasting relationships with clients.
Product & Sales
- Drive sales performance for the department, analyzing results and implementing improvement strategies.
- Enhance product knowledge across the team to boost KPIs such as UPT and cross-selling.
- Share market insights and customer feedback with senior management.
Operations
- Act as a key leader in the absence of senior management, overseeing store operations including opening/closing.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and manage stock effectively.
Profile & Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar retail management role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Commercially minded with a passion for fashion and client service.
- Agile, proactive, and solution-oriented.
- A team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
