How to dress for the party season if you *really* hate wearing dresses

With the party season upon us and endless socialising, you might be starting to think about what on Earth you’re going to wear to so many events. If you’re bored of the sequin dresses and feel like the festive frills aren’t exactly your thing, you’re not entirely doomed… If you’re struggling, we’ve found this piece to bring you ideas to eliminate your outfit block.

Glamour have shared some of their statement pieces from some of our FAVOURITE retail stores.

Struggling for ideas? Let’s dive in…

The Jumpsuit

“An often overlooked, sometimes underrated, garment that not only does the job of a dress (one-piece outfits require so little thought r.e. styling that they save the day on endless I-forgot-I-RSVPd-yes-to-that occasions), but also save one’s modesty during every sudden gust of wind and/or accidental stumble (/arse-over-t*t moment) that inevitably occurs after a couple of mulled wines.”

A humble pair of jeans

A humble pair of jeans, too, can always rise to the occasion when paired with the right sparkly top and slinky sandal.

A skirt is the perfect way to keep things fresh and feminine without the restriction of a dress. Heading somewhere relatively casual? Tuck in a white tee. Need to zhuzh things up? A silk cami can do no wrong. Had a spontaneous ‘sleepover’ (no judgement here)? Pack a fresh blouse for the office tomorrow.

What I’m trying to say is be creative. Venture outside your comfort zone.

Party dressing can be *even* more fun when you bypass the dresses…
