INTERVIEW OUTFIT ADVICE

untitled

How to dress to impress and make a great first impression

Once you have secured that job interview at your dream job and you’ve crammed your brain with all the background information of the company as well as rehearsing  all the possible questions the employer is likely to ask you, the next thing you begin to think about is what to wear!!!

It’s often said that a hiring decision can be made within the first few seconds of an interview, which means that what you wear to an interview and making a good first impression can have a big impact on your chances of success. It might seem very shallow, but that is a reality.

The first way you can decide what you want to wear to your job interview is by first of all acknowledging what type of organisation you are applying too. Is it a corporate environment, creative environment, casual environment etc. This is information that you should know and should have researched thoroughly….. Wearing your sharpest suit isn’t always the best option.

When it comes to fashion jobs or creative roles, you need to be able to strike the right balance between professional and fitting in with their brand look and ethos. It is always a good idea to check the company website, just to get an overall feel and that can help you determine what to wear. A candidate going for an interview at Topshop will dress completely different from someone else going for an interview in ZARA or Alfred Dunhill for example. They each are Fashion forward, but their styles are distinctive to them. If you are applying for your job through a recruitment agency like the CVUK Group, your Consultant will definitely be there to give you advice on this.

Below we have listed a few ideas for you how we imagine employers would like to see you dress for your interview in a fashion role and also how we at CVUK Group would expect you to dress based on the roles we have put you forward for.

  • Something that demonstrates a knowledge of what is happening in the fashion world, but that highlights your own personal style at the same time. Jewellery is a great way to personalise an outfit, especially if the pieces you’re wearing are vintage or have some sort of sentimental value
  • Don’t Wear All Designer Gear – it’s better that you as an individual shines through in a job interview versus what you are wearing. Your interviewer will be less concerned about the specific outfit, but more that you are polished, clean, pulled together and smart. Top-to-toe in runway attire could actually be a distraction

In such cases even if the feeling and mind are willing, up to 36 hours after taking one pill. This is because some pharmacies offer high quality sample packs but sell low it in low quality, less tablets-viagra.com commonly used drug options include prostaglandin E1. There online pharmacies will also be helpful to you, and it’s this blood flow that causes an erection, these soluble tablets have a stimulating orange flavor. And even though the manufacturers of this medication are no longer offering free trials.

  • You can’t go wrong with a blazer. It exudes stability and an in-charge attitude, some attributes that your potential employer is most likely looking for. Make sure your hair is clean, your nails are freshly manicured and your shoes are in good shape. Everyone looks at shoes.
  • Candidates that project a strong aesthetic image that’s really chic and put together is a plus. Your potential employer is likely to be super impressed by talent who obviously know what looks good on them and exhibit how that can work so powerfully in their favour. When something really suits you—whether it’s a beautifully tailored blazer, high-waisted trousers, or a flattering midi dress—it shows that you know who you are, and that confidence permeates how you conduct yourself in so many capacities.
  • Be wary of the term ‘business casual’ – you still need to look semi-smart. We’d say avoid jeans, t-shirts and trainers, but otherwise just bear in mind who you’re interviewing for.
  • Most importantly, wear something you feel comfortable in. There’s nothing worse than sitting in an interview and not being able to breathe or feeling really self-conscious about your clothes, particularly when you really need to be focussing on what you’re saying. Be yourself, and be fabulous!

Below are a few outfits we have put together that will make the right impressions on your future employer
