Dolce & Gabbana Launches Abaya Collection
Dolce & Gabbana, known for its super stylish and unbelievably classy form fitting dresses, worn by A-List Celebrities from around the globe, is taking its brand to a more demure style, by launching a line of abayas and hijabs.
The Italian label this week launched its first collection (keeping their signature bold and colourful prints) aimed at its Muslim consumers on Style.com Arabia.
Whilst the collection comes in neutral hues – lux black and sandy beige, some bear prints of Dolce & Gabbana Italian heritage, including flowers, fruits, polkadots, constructed in delicate silk as they did in the label’s Spring-Summer 2016 runway collection.
This might be the first for Dolce & Gabbana, however, other luxury labels and high street brands such as Net-A-Porter, H&M and Uniqlo have made moves to target the Muslim market by creating Ramadan collections, as the religious celebration gains recognition as a time of increased retail activity for Muslim consumers.
