Topshop goes virtual!

Topshop is offering five customers the chance to experience its AW14 London Fashion Week catwalk show live-streamed through virtual reality headsets in its Oxford Street store!


Working in collaboration with 3D specialist agency Inition, the innovative revolution will allow fans to experience just exactly what it’s like to be on the front row for one of the most anticipated shows at Fashion Week. Taking place at the Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, this will include everything from watching the live catwalk happen in action right in front of them, as well as the celebrities they are sitting “next to” thanks to 180 degree angle stream. If viewers look behind them, then they will get an exclusive view into the backstage area where models get their hair and makeup done. If viewers look up, they will be virtually be taken to a higher level where they will be able to see 360 degree images, including celebrity selfies!

And if that’s not enough, the virtual environment has been designed to look like the Turbine Hall and the virtual live stream will  even reflect this year’s theme for the Topshop Unique AW14 collection. Leaves, flowers and crows – yep that’s right crows, will all be making an appearance. Tweets containing a specific hashtag will emerge in the virtual world as petals dropped by virtual crows! Sounds amazing right?
