CVUK at LCM
Last week, the London Collections: Men arrived to London once again, showcasing the best designer talent in the menswear fashion industry and proving why British menswear is the one to watch!
Greeted by a lovely breakfast buffet, Huntergather’s set the mood for their youthful, fierce collection thanks to the music, playing “Should I Stay or Should I go” by The Clash.
This year it was all about a punk vibe, created via abstract paint splattered patterns in yellow, red and white, revamped leather jackets, Brothel Creeper shoes, khaki, grey and neon hues, along with plenty of denim.
Our personal favourite had to be Burberry. Titled ‘A Painterly Journey’, the show took place at the heavenly Kensington Gardens. The AW14 collection embraced a romantic feel, with autumnal toned leaf prints, woven bags and graphic floral patterns.
The biggest autumn/winter trend to emerge out of last week’s LCM was without a doubt – oversizing. E. Tautz showed us just how good an oversized jacket can look when paired beautifully with a fitted suit, and over at Topman, they showed us it’s not only jackets that are becoming oversized, but trousers too.
So after last week’s events, it is no wonder that our men’s fashion week has become one of the best in the world. With checks, hats, oversizing, bright colours, grunge punk and bomber jackets all on the cards, there’s a lot to look forward to this A/W.
