Interview Tip #13 – KNOW YOUR NUMBERS.

One of the biggest and easily avoided mistakes when preparing for an interview is failing to revise your own past history. Results, profit, turnover, achievements – the all-important points that back up that not only do you know the what’s, but the how’s as well.

It can be easy to get caught up researching the company and person interviewing you, madly trying to memorise figures about them in order to prove you’ve done your research. And don’t get us wrong, this is important too, but more important is knowing your own stats. You can easily be forgiven for not knowing the ins and outs of a prospective employee, you can’t as easily be forgiven for failing to know what you’ve done, by how much, when.

You are your own biggest asset in any interview and to give yourself the best chance you need to know why you’re the best person for the job and what you’ve done to back that up. Remember exact dates, remember exact results, remember exact details – know your numbers and you’ll already be a step ahead of most candidates!
