CVUK Fashion – Paris Couture Week Spring/Summer 2013
As February’s fashion week continues to creep up on us we’re gearing up for a month of style, style and more style but it seems the fashion world felt the wrath of our impatience.
Over the past week we’ve been ogling the designs shown throughout Couture Fashion Week, adding them to our wishlists and getting all the more excited for the soon to be shown Ready-To-Wear collections.
The catwalks were a haven of luxurious lace, vibrantly coloured feather plumes and seductive flashes of flesh and none more so than the Versace show. A brand where the motto has always been ‘more is more’, we would expect nothing less than the selection of neon, jewel embellished, figure empowering designs shown on the catwalk. This season’s biggest trend monochrome proved a designer favourite with black and white pieces scattering the collections at Bouchra Jarrar and Giambattista Valli.
Versace Spring/Summer Couture 2013
Opulence was at its best on the Versace runway as Donatella showed a collection that meant business. Models were dressed in metallic gold power suits with plunging necklines.
Chanel Spring/Summer Couture 2013
Karl Lagerfeld brought the outside in as he created his very own Chanel forest at the Grand Palais. Models walked in thigh-high lace boots teamed with cute structured tea dresses and the classic tweed suit, updated into buttoned mini-dresses.
Bouchra Jarrar & Alexis Mabille Couture Spring/Summer 2013
Monochrome was seen across the catwalks as designers kept colours simple and focused on creating strong silhouettes.
Elie Saab Couture Spring/Summer 2013
A favourite of our future queen, designer Elie saab produced a collection so beautifully elegant you can rest assured he will be this years go to designer for red carpet events.
Giambattista Valli Couture Spring/Summer 2013
Texture was the focus at Giambattista Valli. Fur, lace, organza, the designer used it all, and the result? A collection of chic designs that put the designer at the centre of the Couture map.
Christian Dior Couture Spring/Summer 2013
A man with something to prove, Raf Simons debuted his first Couture collection for Dior since his appointment at the fashion house last season. A collection of dresses in the signature style and cropped jackets adding femininity to the tuxedo ensured Simons’ time at the house has barely even begun.
