CVUK Trend – A Paler Shade Of White
We’ve had a summer full of bright colours and bold patterns, but for Fall 2012 it’s all about one shade.
Designers have gone back to basics, focusing their attention on creating new silhouettes and classic designs, using a simple colour palette of whites and creams. The catwalk was awash with a wintery feel as collections were full of coats with white fur trims, layers of lace and fresh white tailored suits.
Tailoring was still as evident as always throughout Fashion Weeks across the globe, as designers experimented with a looser fitting style of blouses, blazers and tailored trousers, all in the freshest shade of white. Chanel layered crop jackets and shift dresses over cropped trousers while Sportmax paired oversized fur-trimmed coatigans with textured knitted jumpers and wide-legged trousers.

Proenza Schouler dressed models in crisp white double-panelled shirts and low-rise trousers held up with skinny belts while minimalism was in full swing at Jil Sander with collarless calf-length coats were worn over metallic slips and perspex heels.

Alexander McQueen and Valentino opted for a feminine approach with a more structured collection of pretty dress coats and lashings of lace. Sarah Burton added knee-high boots and fur cuffs to a belted winter coat and Valentino showed fitted tulip coats with bishop sleeves and shoulder detailing.
