CVUK The Weekly Round-Up
We know it’s not fashion related – although his wife is a regular wearer of fashion’s finest designs – but last week’s biggest story was the re-election of Barack Obama. He’s this week’s number one and at number five we have the turning on of the Oxford Street lights, however we have kept numbers 2-4 strictly fashion!

Ba(ra)ck (sorry, couldn’t resist) Obama was last week re-elected to serve as American President for another four years, beating opponent Mitt Romney and defending his place in The White House. Tweeting shortly after the announcement Obama posted on his Twitter page, “We’re all in this together. That’s how we campaigned and that’s who we are. Thankyou. – bo”, signing his initials to show it was written by him personally. He then posted a picture of himself hugging his wife, and First Lady Michelle Obama, which quickly became the most popular tweet of all time. The picture was re-tweeted 814, 693 times, favourited 296,785 times and resulted in his followers increasing from 22 – 23 million in the past week.

There’s always massive hype surrounding the Victoria’s Secret show and this year was no different, with models Cara Delevingne and Jourdan Dunn making their debut and Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Bruno Mars singing on the catwalk during the show.

Cara Delevingne wore a candy-stripped outfit and roller-skates while Jourdan Dunn wore a futuristic sci-fi one piece. Karlie Kloss, Miranda Kerr and Adriana Lima all featured wearing extravagant ‘wings’ and designs dripping with diamonds, and Alessandra Ambrosio was chosen to model the infamous $2.5 million ‘fantasy bra’ designed especially for the show.

Kardashian fever hit the U.K, hard. Early last week we talked briefly about the collaboration between the three Kardashian sister’s and high-street store Dorothy Perkins, and on Friday London saw Kim, Kourtney and Khloe arrive in the UK to launch the new collection on Oxford Street and at Wesfield, to thousands of adoring fans. The ‘Kollection’ is available at more than 200 stores and online and it set to bring a whole new interest to Dorothy Perkins.

This year’s Oxford Street Christmas lights were switched on by Emma Bunton, with a little help from Robbie Williams, who performed, along with Leona Lewis. We are lucky enough to have our offices on Oxford Street so we could watch the goings-on from our window!
