Lace is upping its game this season in a bid to become the most stylish winter trend.
Back in February this year designers took to the catwalk with their designs for Fall 2012 and models strutted their stuff dressing in all manner of lace creations. Sarah Burton kept things fresh at Alexander McQueen with white crocheted lace tulip dresses held together with an over-sized bow belt while the guys at Dolce and Gabbana honed in on fashion’s new romantic with chic midi dresses in soft creams.

Lace got racey as Frida Giannini vamped things up at Givenchy by layering sheer belted dresses over scarlet red slips, styled with knee-high patent leather boots and arm length leather gloves. Models were made-up with dark eyes and pale make-up and sported loose fabric chokers around their necks.

Lace stayed ladylike on the Erdem catwalk with the designer showing pencil dresses of black lace layered over the top of bright pink fabrics and Valentino made reference to the simple ball gown with elegant ankle-length dresses embellished with glistening beads.
