Ascension….Green is the new Black.

Like hugging trees but don’t like getting dirty?  Like shopping,  but can’t handle the guilt of knowing that your new garm’s aren’t  ethically sourced?  This is where new eco-friendly store Ascension comes into play.  Ascension, previously known as ADILI before they re-branded, are the first ethical retail fashion store in the UK.  We went to the opening of the store last week and were very impressed. 

The new store is situated in the heart of London’s west end in the luxurious St. Christopher’s Place.  The shop covers a healthy, 1, 800 square feet and provides an interesting, pleasurable shopping experience.  The store stocks many of the main eco fashion designer brands for men and women including BLLACK BY NOIR, BOUN, SONYA KASHMIRI aswell as emerging sustainable BEAUTIFUL SOUL, STEWART AND BROWN, among others.  All clothing is very reasonably priced, whether you are looking for fairtrade denim, naturally died silk dresses or luxury organic bed linen.

All staff are extremely knowledgeable on the products and at hand to answer all your hemp-y, bamboo-y, organic cotton-y themed queries.  Alongside the new store, the company are opening a clearance store in Dorchester, Dorset.  But don’t worry if you can’t make it to either stores, you can still shop online at www.ascensiononline.com.

We really like what Ascension have done with the new store, its cool, fresh and affordable.  As pioneers of the ethical movement, we are hoping they can set a level of ethical standard which many of the larger high street brands should really think about adhering to.
